Vicki Evarts: Certified yoga teacher, RYT instructor,and  co-founder of On the Mat Vinyasa Power Yoga, Inc. Vicki, a long-time committed athlete and marathon runner, discovered yoga eight years ago and has become a dedicated yoga practitioner. She has pursued her teacher training with Baron Baptiste of Baptiste Power Yoga Institute, Shannah Green of the Nantucket Yoga Room, and at Kripalu, where she completed her 200hr certification with Joseph Le Page of Integrative Yoga Therapy.  On-going training includes workshops with Anna Forest, Manju Jois, The Primary Series, and Beryl Bender Birch of The Hard and The Soft Astanga Yoga Institute as well as working privately with several Boston instructors. She is a registered yoga teacher with the California Yoga Alliance.

Bar Littlefield: Co-founder of On the Mat and yoga instructor, Bar has pursued her interest in Hatha, Iyengar and, in particular, Astanga yoga for many years. She has trained with Mimi Loureiro of 02 Yoga and Baron Baptiste of Baptiste Power Yoga Institute and at Kripalu where she completed her 200 hour certification with Joseph Le Page of Integrative Yoga Therapy. On-going training includes workshops with Edward Clarke of Tripsichore Yoga Theatre, Cindy Lee of OM Yoga, Manju Jois, The Primary Series, Beryl Bender Birch, Rod Stryker, as well as studying privately with several Boston area instructors.  She is a registered yoga teacher with the California Yoga Alliance.

Tamara Nuenighoff: RYT, has been a regular teacher at OTM since its inception.  She has been a teacher and a student of yoga for almost a decade.  Tammy received her certification  through Frog Pond Yoga Centre in Princeton Ma, and is continually adding to her training and knowledge.  She is greatly inspired by Shiva Rea and has completed two teacher training programs with her.  Tammy has also studied with Ana Forrest, Seane Corne, Bryan Kest, and locally with Elena Case and Daniel Orlansky.  Tammy has also completed a certificate program in Chakra Psycology, the energy system of yoga.  Tammy has a unique and creative approach to her teaching style.  She intuitively adapts class flows to the energy and level of students and is able to challenge intermediate students without intimidating new students.  Her style is fun, upbeat and heart centered.  Tammy has a great depth of knowledge and joyfully shares it with her students.
Pilar Caso: A graduate of the University of Delaware in public relations and advertising, Pilar has been involved in fitness training and teaching for many years. Originally an aerobics instructor in the Philadelphia area, she began long distance running and cycle training 15 years ago and has competed in half marathons, 10ks and cycle races. Recovering from a running injury a few years ago, she began yoga training and has never looked back. Pilar has practiced many hours of yoga through Baron Baptiste Power Yoga. Pilar has attended Baron's Power Yoga boot camp in Costa Rica. She has also completed level one teacher training in Mexico and level two teacher training in Montana. Pilar loves to share her yoga knowledge and passion with her students and is devoted to them. "She invites her students to take a journey inward, everytime they come to the mat!"

Pam Gaither (RYT): Pam began teaching yoga in 1998. She offers a dynamic Anusara –inspired yoga™ class that integrates Universal Principles of Alignment ™ , balanced energetic action and a celebration of the heart, all designed to free the body and honor our innate Goodness. Her precise teaching style is balanced with playfulness and authenticity. She studies extensively with John Friend, the founder of Anusara Yoga® , and Anusara certified instructor Deb Neubauer. Pam is also a devoted student of Rajanaka Tantra Philosophy. The richness of her teaching is inspired by her awesome teachers, her personal dedication to yoga, and her commitment to a spiritual path of transformation and healing. Pam's genuine desire to inspire others to discover their inner radiance will find its way straight to your heart.  

Shannah Green of Nantucket Yoga Room has studied and practiced yoga for the last 13 years and is a registered teacher certified at Kripalu Center for Yoga and Health and through Tom Gillette at Eyes of the World Yoga in Providence, RI. Her teaching synthesizes the various styles of yoga she has intensively studied, including Kripalu, Iyengar, Ashtanga, Vinyasa and Anusara. She is honored to have studied with many wonderful teachers including Tom Gillette, Richard Freeman, Erich Schiffman, Shiva Rea, David Swensen, and Patricia Walden. In addition to owning,directing and teaching at The Yoga Room, she currently studies with, and teaches for Tom Gillette at Eyes of the World Yoga Center in Providence, RI.
Emily Phillips comes to On the Mat after 2 years at Reebok Headquarters as a fitness specialist.  She holds  2 Masters Degrees (Fitness Management, Clinical Psychology), and is a doctoral candidate in Clinical Psychology.  Emily has been involved in exercise vidoes and personal training.   In addition, she has worked in the mental health and fitness industries, and received a "superior" ranking from City Sports Magazine as a group exercise instructor. Emily was trained in the Viniyoga tradition by Judy Baker, and has been influenced by Rolf Gates, Baron Baptiste, Bo Forbes, and Bryan Kest.  Emily brings a mind-body focus to her classes, and her style can be described as a slow flow, with emphasis on alignment, breath, and mindfulness.

Susan Florio came to yoga after years of dance training, aerobics, and running, and found that yoga brought her body and mind to a place of balance. Susan has studied under many wonderful yoga teachers who continue to inspire her and she completed a 200 hour teacher training program with O2 Yoga's Mimi Loureio. Susan enjoys the creativity inherent in teaching and likes helping people conquer their fears and push through their boundaries. She loves to see the joy on a student's face when they find a pose for the first time. Susan is former lawyer and software technical writer and now enjoys spending time with her husband and playing with her daughter Greer.


Marta Weinstock has been a student and teacher of yoga for the last seven years.  Marta has almost two decades of experience with teaching group fitness classes and held many traditional certifications in the fitness industry.  Marta was a staff yoga instructor at the Boston Baptiste Studio under the direction of Rolf Gates, and continues to work with Rolf as a Vinyasa Intensive assistant for his international programming.  She has completed formal yoga teacher trainings with Baron Baptiste, and Ana Forrest and regularly enrolls in yoga workshops with other renown instructors.  In addition to yoga, she has recently completed a 40-hour STOTT Pilates classroom training and is currently pursuing her certification in pilates.  Additionally, Marta has an MBA, and is the founder of B*WELL, a corporate fitness and wellness services company, with the mission to teach and integrate fitness (cardio/strength), wellness (yoga & meditation),
family, & nutrition into corporate life.  Marta's strength is creating a
sense of awareness and balance with her students.

 

Kate Millen (RYT ) received her yoga certification through the Frog Pond Yoga Centre in Princeton , MA and completed an advanced teacher training with Ana Forrest. Kate holds many western certifications including Pilate's, personal training, weight training, and a certification in nutrition as well as a B.S. in chemistry. She has an eclectic style that is influenced by Forrest, Vinyasa, Iyengar, and Ashtanga. Kate is currently working towards her 500 hour certification with an emphasis on yoga therapeutics. She believes yoga can be a vehicle for healing both physically and emotionally changes occur at a cellular level, once intention is set transformation will happen. Yoga is for EVERYONE at any age. Kate has attended many workshops from well known yoga teachers such as Tias Little, Max Strom, Ana Forrest, Baron Baptiste, Rolf Gates, and continues to study and practice with the areas best yoga professionals.

  Cathy Mandrioli, Registered Yoga Teacher. Cathy has practiced for 15+ years on her own , but took her practice to a much deeper level when On The Mat opened. As she discovered the pleasures and benefits of practicing yoga in a group setting she became hooked and a regular at On The Mat. Cathy completed David Magone’s Prana Vayu Teacher Training in the spring of 2006, and with the encouragement of OTM owners Vicki and Bar completed her 200 hour teacher training with Devashi; Steven Hartman and Megha; Nancy Buttenheim at the Kripalu Center in Stockbridge , MA. Workshops include David Magone, Rolf Gates, Don Staplteton and his wife Amba. Cathy especially enjoys sharing her love of yoga with new students. Based on her personal experience of supplementing her treatment for a serious medical condition with asanas, she is also committed to helping others evolve their practice of yoga to take care of their bodies and their spirits. Cathy is registered with the California Yoga Alliance.
