 yoga for stretch & strength

Can’t touch your toes? Has your doctor, your friend,  or your spouse told you that you need yoga? We’ve got the classes for you. These classes assume you have done little to no yoga. These classes emphasize stretching and strengthening and serve as a complement to your athletic training. The tightest bodied athletes and the most chronic desk sitters will find a home here. You can learn the basics of a yoga practice and experience greater ease of movement in your body, helping you to avoid future injury. And… you may learn to love yoga.

SCHEDULE

Yoga Stretch & Strength for All Levels

60 Minute Classes

Here’s a class that’s appropriate for both beginners and more  seasoned yogis looking for less flow and more stretch. Expect to move in this class but the movement is not complicated and is always accessible to all body types. We work to experience greater ease in the body so that, when you walk out of the yoga studio, you feel looser and calmer than when you walked in. This is a great class for high school athletes looking to complement the sports they love and for anyone that finds they sit too much and need to stretch. We will always incorporate some strength work as the body needs both strength & stretch. Core strengthening is woven into every class for fitness and for the health of the low back.

60 Minute

Like our standard Slow Flow classes, the pace is slower. Many  poses are practiced lying down or seated. This class emphasizes stretching over strengthening and is taught by Ori, a bodyworker who has a deep knowledge of human anatomy. If you are a tight- bodied person, you need this class but don’t expect it to be easy. This is for people who get their cardio elsewhere but want the meditative peace and stretch from yoga. As an added bonus, Ori often leads a short meditation at the very end of class.

Slow Flow & Restore Yoga

60 Minute Classes

Slow Flow & Restore is a nourishing fusion of mindful, unhurried vinyasa and restorative yoga. At the start of class, gently release tension and stress through meditative movements and breath work. Then, ease into floor based postures supported by props to encourage deep relaxation and comfort. Slow, deliberate movement unlocks deeper layers of fascia and connective tissue to rejuvenate your tissues. Class will culminate in a tranquil savasana to embrace the healing power of stillness and then finish with a brief guided meditation. Embrace the art of slowing down, honoring your body’s unique needs, and creating spaciousness in the mind.

Every Wednesday night at 7pm

Hot & Sweaty 20

75 Minute

In this new OTM class, we will practice a designated series of poses that is the same each time. However, just because the poses are the same does not mean that your experience will be the same each time! 20 poses, same order, lots of holding but no flow. No chattarunga, no up dog... no vinyasa. The combo of poses are designed to stretch and strengthen the major muscle groups. EXPECT TO SWEAT. We will be turning up the heat!
